Terms of Use

Movsight is a free cinema journal: you record notes, quotes and lessons from the films and series you watch, share them if you choose, and follow other users. Film and series information comes from The Movie Database (TMDB).

To improve the service we may change features, interrupt it temporarily, or end it entirely after reasonable prior notice. If the service ends, we give you time to download your data.

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You must state your date of birth truthfully at sign-up; we close accounts below the age limit when they are reported to us.
• You are responsible for accurate registration details and for keeping your password secret. Tell us immediately if your account is used without permission.
• Your username must not infringe others’ rights, be misleading or impersonate anyone.
• You can delete your account at any time on the Settings page.

Notes, quotes and other content you post remain yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, non-transferable licence to use it solely to provide the service: storing it and showing it to you and, depending on your visibility setting, to others. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account. Technical backups are deleted within 30 days at the latest.

New notes are private by default. Content you make “public” can be seen by anyone on the internet.

Short quotations from films are fine, but do not reproduce others’ works at length without permission.

You must not:

• post unlawful, hateful, violence-inciting or harassing content, or content that violates others’ personality rights
• share other people’s personal data without permission
• infringe copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property
• spread spam, advertising or misleading content
• bulk-scrape the service with automated tools, overload it, or try to bypass its security
• open an account in someone else’s name or under a false identity

You can report content you believe is illegal to privacy@movsight.com (EU Digital Services Act, Art. 16). Please include the content’s link (URL), why you think it is illegal, your name and e-mail address, and a statement that you are reporting in good faith.

We review reports diligently and objectively and tell you the outcome. If we remove content or restrict an account, we tell the affected user our decision and the reasons for it (DSA Art. 17). You can appeal our decision at privacy@movsight.com.

We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, after a prior warning (DSA Art. 23).

Movsight’s design, software and brand belong to us. Film and series data and images belong to TMDB and the rights holders, and are subject to the TMDB API Terms of Use.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

The service is provided free of charge. We cannot guarantee that information from TMDB is accurate or that the service will run without interruption. You are responsible for the content you post.

Our liability for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under mandatory statutory provisions remains unaffected. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to foreseeable, typical damage.

You can end this agreement at any time by deleting your account. If you breach the Terms, we may suspend or close your account, with prior notice and an explanation of our reasons where possible.

If we change these Terms we tell you on the site in advance. For material changes we ask for your acceptance again. If you do not accept the new Terms, you can delete your account.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. As a consumer you keep the protection of mandatory consumer law of your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract (e.g. Art. 6 Rome I Regulation in the EU).

Consumers resident in Turkey may use the statutorily competent consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts; consumers resident in the EU may sue in the courts of their place of residence.
